Tibet – Immigration

In recent years, due to the continuous improvements of China’s national strength and international status, the country has seen an increase in prospective immigrants.

Although the procedures for immigration to China are complicated, the National Immigration Administration provides all the relevant information, including application conditions, materials and procedures. Most immigration information can be searched online.

Chinese nationality applications in the country are handled by the local or provincial Public Security Bureaus, while in foreign countries they are handled by Chinese diplomatic representative offices and consular offices. Applicants for naturalization as a Chinese national are all examined and approved by the Ministry of Public Security of the People’s Republic of China.

According to the Chinese Nationality Law, foreigners or stateless people who meet the conditions and are willing to abide by the Constitution of the People’s Republic of China and its laws can apply for approval to become Chinese nationals.

It is worth noting that after the applicant has been approved to become a Chinese national, it is impossible to retain foreign nationality. Entry and exit procedures will be handled in accordance with applicable regulations for Chinese citizens.
