Victoria Harbour
Victoria Harbour, as its name suggests, originated from Britain’s Queen Victoria. It is the largest seaport in Asia, and one of the world’s three great natural ports. Victoria Harbour is a deep water port between Hong Kong Island and the Kowloon Peninsula. It is a must-visit place in Hong Kong. During the day, you can see skyscrapers everywhere towering into the sky. And, when night comes, the bright neon lights are brilliant and flashy. The scenery of day and night are very different, and each have their distinct characteristics. Whether you visit during the day or at night, you will feel the modern city atmosphere around you, created by the busy shuttle boats.
The famous “Symphony of Lights” light and music show is staged every night at Victoria Harbour. With bright and programmable lights, participating buildings on Hong Kong Island and Kowloon are accompanied by a symphony of sound and flashing laser lights. LED light designs often share messages of admiration towards the city, adding a human touch to the show. This show is a feast for both eyes and ears and transforms Victoria Harbour into a place of amazement. The best place to see the show is at the entrance of Hong Kong Cultural Centre at Tsim Sha Tsui. At the same time, Victoria Harbour is the main venue for firework displays in Hong Kong. Every important holiday, countless Hong Kong citizens will gather here to enjoy a beautiful firework display.
Harbour City Observatory Deck, also known as the “Ocean Terminal Deck”, is located on the rooftop of Ocean Terminal, a new five-story extension to Harbour City. It is the best place to enjoy the beauty of both sides of Victoria Harbour. Surrounded by the sea on three sides, it provides a 270-degree view which allows visitors to enjoy the beauty of sunsets and the night view of Victoria Harbour. If you want to venture further, you can also choose to take a sightseeing boat or Chinese sailing boat for a more immersive experience.
